2016 Beauty Favourites

As the year comes to an end I thought I'd take this opportunity to share with you all my absolute favourite products that I've been using this year, some are newer to my collection but have made it to this blogpost because they have completely upped my make up game.

Make Up Forever Ultra HD Foundation
I gave into the hype when this first came out with the newer formula, it's creamy, hydrating and perfect for when taking pictures on a high quality camera as it photographs perfectly. This foundation leaves a satin finish to the skin but gives off a very dewy natural look which I personally love in a foundation, something that looks almost invisible and skin like.

Too Faced 'Born This Way' Foundation
I purchased this later this year and have not stopped using it, the finish is amazing leaving my base looking flawless and even, covering even the darkest scars on my face. The formula has beneficial ingredients such as coconut water which helps bring moisture back into the skin, overall the foundation leaves my skin looking super radiant and youthful. The foundation is build-able but 1 layer delivers great coverage for myself.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer
I've loved using this primer the most this year, it has been the perfect base before foundation leaving my skin looking poreless and adding longevity. The primer always allows the make up that goes on top to apply smoothly, I will be purchasing this again once its finished.

L.A Girl Pro Concealer
It's no surprise that this product has made it to this blogpost, I've been raving about it to friends and family for months on end now and will always recommend this as the coverage, consistency and wear of this is amazing. They have a huge range of shades to choose from, I even use some of the darker shades to contour my cheeks with! You can find these concealers in Beauty Base in the Stratford Westfield shopping mall or online.

shades I use:
highlighting purposes - Pure Beige
concealing spots, more near to my foundation shade (NC40) - Medium Beige
contouring purposes - Beautiful Bronze
brighten under eyes/face - Yellow Corrector
colour correct dark areas - Orange Corrector

Too Faced Born This Way Concealer
This is a recent purchase but has easily become one of my holy grail products, the concealer itself is super creamy with great coverage leaving a very radiant look under the eyes too. I tend to get quite dry under eyes especially during this time of the year but this product definitely helps bring back the moisture as it does contain the same ingredients as the foundation.
shade 'medium' (purchase here

NYX Micro Brow Pencil
This brow pencil has been called the dupe to the famous Anastasia Beverly Hills Brow Wiz - I absolutely love both of them and do see some similarities, but this is a much more affordable version and still does an excellent job at getting that perfect brow.

NYX Pro Contour & Highlight Palette
I use this palette on a daily basis without fail, the shades compliment my NC37-40 skin tone perfectly and are super pigmented. These pans are refillable which will cost you £3.25 a pan each which to me is a bargain, an Anastasia Beverly Hills refill costs £14 alone.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance Palette
This is the palette every girl needs in their collection - the colours are super pigmented, buttery in texture and they blend like a dream. I personally love the more warmer shades in a eye shadow palette so this is something right up my street, this also comes with a double ended brush that I find myself picking up most of the times when doing my eye make up as its so nice and fluffy.

Morphe 12NB Palette
This is the perfect palette for a beginner, it contains a few warm matte and shimmery shades that are super pigmented and blend amazingly, Morphe has a huge range of affordable palettes you can try my favourites are the 35O and the 35 Taupe palette!

Certifeye Glitters
I'm going to take this opportunity to say how proud I am of my good friend Aysha on her successful business, she is such a great role model and has shown that hard work really and truly does pay off. She has a HUGE range of glitters (she also has lashes and recently launched a gorgeous brush set) that I am obsessed with, if you're looking to experiment and try new looks I highly recommend trying the Certifeye Glitters as they are super easy to use, you can purchase the glitter glue from her website but I also have used regular eyelash glue. Currently there are some active codes that will take off some £££ off your order, I've listed them down below.

Bobbi Brown 'Camel' Eyeshadow
Wherever I go this eyeshadow follows me, I honestly cannot live without it! It's the perfect all over the lid shade, it's a very earthy toned brown although in the picture it may look orange it's definitely a colour that will suit all skin tones. It's pigmented and blends well, I find myself reaching for this when in need of a transition shade for even a more glam look - its honestly a shade that you NEED in your collection.

Gerard Cosmetics Liquid Lipsticks
I fell in love with Gerard Cosmetics after trying their lipsticks, I love the shade '1995' its the perfect muted brown-mauve for my complexion and when they introduced it in the liquid lipstick form I was sold instantly, I've been through 3 tubes already! I also love the shades 'Everything Nice', 'Cher' and 'Boss Lady'. They're long lasting on the lips, they can feel slightly dry sometimes so I'd recommend wearing a lip balm underneath for extra moisture.

Kat Von D Liquid Lipstick
This was my most recent 2016 purchase but I had to include it in this blogpost because it has got to be my favourite liquid lipstick formula to date - it's runnier than the Gerard Cosmetics formula and is very moisturising on my lips. I currently only own Lolita 1 and 2, I much prefer 1 as the colour is right up my street (nude/mauve) and compliments my skin tone more, Lolita 2 being much more coral under toned.

eBay lashes
I discovered these lashes late this year but this is my absolute favourite 2016 favourite find. I've replaced these with my Ardell Demi Wispies as they are nearly identical if anything I find these ones better, I am forever buying these lashes in bulk as they only cost me £1.89!

There was so many other products I wanted to add to this post but for now I leave you all with this. Wishing you all a very happy new year, see you in 2017!
